Updating from Yamaha LAN Monitor V1.8.6 and Later Versions

1. Connect the SWX3220 and the computer, using a LAN cable.
   Please connect to a port on the SWX3220 which has been assigned to VLAN1.
2. Start the Yamaha LAN Monitor.
3. Change the LAN Monitor display to [List] mode.
4. Click the [Firmware Update] tab. (Loading the firmware might take a while if multiple units are connected.)
5. Select the switch to be updated.
6. Click the [Firmware Update] button.
7. Click the [Browse] button to select the downloaded and decompressed firmware file with a “.bin” extension.
8. Click the [Execute] button.

Updating from Yamaha LAN Monitor Versions Earlier Than V1.8.6

1. Connect the SWX3220 and the computer, using a LAN cable.
   Please connect to a port on the SWX3220 which has been assigned to VLAN1.
2. Start the Yamaha LAN Monitor.
3. Select the SWX3220 to be updated in the tree view.
4. Click the [Web GUI] button on the device detail view.
   The username and password are not specified with the factory settings, so entering a username and password is not necessary.
   Note: If updating from V4.02.13 or a later version, log in by entering the previously specified authentication information.
5. Select [Management] -> [Maintenance] -> [Update firmware], then click the [Next] button on "Update firmware from PC."
6. Click the [Select a file] button, then select the downloaded and decompressed firmware file with extension “.bin”.
7. Click the [Confirm] button.
8. Click the [OK] button.

Wait until completing the update. SWX3220 will automatically restart and become ready to use.

New Functionality

• sFlow function was added.
  This function setting page was added to the Web GUI management page.
• The “Find this switch” function in the ADECIA security enhancement was added.
• The RMON function setting page was added to the Web GUI management page.

Improvements

• The loop detection function works on logical interfaces.
• In the ADECIA security enhancement, the automatic device recognition function works even when an IGMP querier does not exist.
• Dante optimization setting by LLDP is no longer automatically applied when the stack is enabled.
• Revised the settings to apply the “Dante optimization” settings by LLDP automatically.
• The LLDP function and basic management TLVs are enabled in the Web GUI's “Dante optimization” settings.
• The following wording in the Web GUI was changed:
  • the wording of "Admin Password" and "Administrator Password" to "Privileged Password”
  • wording when CONFIG is saved
  • unified the wording

Fixed Bugs

• Fixed a bug in 802.1X authentication that could cause a reboot when receiving a large EAP fragment size RADIUS packet.
• Fixed a bug that could cause stack disconnections when loops were detected.
• Fixed a bug in the ADECIA security enhancement that caused communication to fail in rare cases when security settings were disabled.
• Fixed a bug that could prevent communication by MAC authentication when all FDB entries are cleared, such as when the stack is reconfigured.
• Fixed a bug in the SNMP function that the correct value could not be obtained when acquiring the private MIB of the loop detection information.
• Fixed a bug when a stack member was displayed on the Web GUI dashboard if a period with no data was selected from [Day],[Month],[Year] in the Resource Information and Power Consumption Information gadgets. It took time to switch screens, and an error log was outputted.
• Fixed a bug in which some configuration screens in [Layer2 Functions]-[Spanning Tree] of the Web GUI's advanced settings were garbled when displayed in English.
• Fixed a bug in the following screens of the Web GUI management that the setting values were sometimes not reflected in the setting screens.
